Most interesting encounter - “I once saw a pride of lions hunting a baby elephant. The lions surrounded it while its mother tried to protect it, but the lions were too strong. It was both sad and amazing to watch. Another time, I saw a cheetah and her cub chasing a gazelle and its baby. The chase was quick, and the cheetah caught the gazelle while her cub learned how to catch the baby. It was a powerful moment of nature. I also watched a lioness fighting a male leopard. The lioness was protecting her territory, and even though the leopard was strong and fast, the lioness won, and the leopard ran away. These moments showed me how every animal in the wild fights to survive”.

Most interesting encounter - “I have a few rare encounters in the Serengeti! I was fortunate to experience a cheetah hunt a Thomson’s gazelle. We witnessed the cheetah patiently hide for some time, waiting for the gazelle to come within striking distance. After successfully taking down the prey, she called her cubs to join and feed. It was an unforgettable experience witnessing the hunt and hearing a cheetah chirp.”

Most interesting encounter -“One of my favorite moments on safari is watching big cats hunt. Seeing lions, leopards, and cheetahs in action is always exciting! Every hunt is different, and each one shows the skill and power of these amazing cats. Watching them hunt in the wild is always an unforgettable experience”.

Most interesting encounter -“Watching a wildebeest mother pushing her baby and hyenas unexpectedly attacked and swooped the baby. It was a very emotional and intense scene for us to see and we drove on soon after”.

Most interesting encounter -“My most interesting encounter in the wilderness is seeing a pangolin twice. These are very rare in the Serengeti and difficult to see while on safari”.

Most interesting encounter - “One day in the Serengeti, our group saw a lioness mating with two male lions. This makes both males believe they are the father, so they protect the cubs together. It also helps keep peace in the pride, reducing fights between the males”.

Most interesting encounter -“I have been lucky to experience unique animal sightings and behaviour during my career. Along with the big five, I have spotted a black rhino, cheetah and the Great Wildebeest Migration in the Serengeti. As I enjoy photography, capturing these moments has been especially rewarding, from vibrant bird species to breathtaking landscapes of the savannah, mountains and the rivers”.

Most interesting encounter -“Watching the wildebeest cross the Mara River is my favourite safari experience. The crossing is quite dramatic. Thousands of wildebeest first approach the riverbank and tension builds as they hesitate when to cross, knowing the risk of the crocodiles and the strong current. The climax is then the crossing of the river, while we observe who is the fittest to survive. This experience is a powerful reminder of the ‘circle of life’”.

Most interesting encounter - “There are a few memorable moments I will never forget during my safari trips. Firstly, I experienced a cheetah walk towards our vehicle and climbing onto the back wheels. It sat on the car for a few minutes and headed back into the wilderness shortly after. Another rare scene I’ve witnessed is a rhino chasing an elephant. And the most unique encounter has been the leopard killing it’s fellow leopard rival, dragging and hanging it on top of the tree, reminding us of the harsh laws of the wild”.

Most interesting encounter - “While driving the dusty roads of the Serengeti, I saw the biggest python I had ever seen, slithering across the road, liking searching for a warm spot. It was the Serengeti Rock Python, also known as Africa’s largest snake”.

Most interesting encounter - “I have actually had a few encounters such as: Witnessing a fight between lions and hyenas as they battle over a fresh lion kill. The wildebeest migration crossing the Mara River and where hundreds are swept away by the current and caught by the hungry crocodiles. Another interesting encounter was seeing baboons chasing a cheetah away as they attempted to steal the cheetah’s kill. And last but not least, a leopard frozen in place in the treetops, after noticing a lion resting directly below, avoiding any more that might alert the lion!”
